Technical Battery ?

Hello peeps ,

I have found an intermittent electrical fault with my Marea .:bang:

Sometimes when I start her up , it almost seems to die as it's turning over , then will kick into life as if no problem .

Could this be a faulty battery , alternator or something else ?

Any comments and help would be gratefully accepted .:worship:

When was the battery last replaced? Mines used to do this on the coupe and although the battery was only 2 years old, it had been left uncharged for 6 months and ended up not holding a charge or doing as described above.

best to get a voltage tester on the battery to see if its holding charge, it does sound like the battery is duff but need to confirm.

check the voltage with the engine off and it should be something around 12v, start the engine and it should increase to around 14v as the alternator is charging. should be obvious what is at fault from there

I have had the battery in the car since I bought it earlier this year , it came with the motor .

Ignition off 12.5v
Ignition on 12.0v
Engine Running 14.0v

???

Have also noticed that when the engine labours to start up , i lose my trip memory reading .

sounds oh so common of a nackered battery, or maybe just an incorrect one fitted thats to low ampage. i had similar issue when i used the one from my uno to start my old marea lol

mines 320 amps

i assume the 50AH is 50 minutes at 25 amps, if so, mine is 80 minutes at 25 amps

50 Ah = 50 A /hour or 1 A / 50 hours. Get it? It is the eaqual of the charge of the battery.

250 A = value of the electrical current, if you would shortcut the battery
