I need a new battery for my Stilo 1.4 active aircon (06). When I looked at the array of connectors at the positive side of the existing battery I saw that they were screwed with two small cross head screws through a small red plasic plate to holes in the top of the battery. Is this essential and would it matter if a new battery didn't have these holes?

One other question. Does the radio code need to be reset if the battery is disconnected?

Hi, I took my Stilo's battery out on three occasions, with no impact on the radio. Last time was to replace the front light globe, so the battery was out for about 45 minutes. Be warned that all the info (excluding the mileage) will reset to zero on the clever computer.

Regarding the screws, also a bit mystified about why they should screw into the battery, but I would think that they are purely there to hold the "array of connectors" down. I forgot to put them back the first time I took the battery out, and only realized that when I took the battery out the second time.
