Hi Guys, I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice regarding my battery. I have a 2017 Tipo 1.6 diesel easy plus, I have had it 3 years with no problems, it's done 61000 miles, overall not a bad car. I have been away for 2 months with my neighbour starting it up weekly. The Stop Start warning light is now on and the dash button doesn't work, I have charged the battery up but enquired about a new one, £300 fitted!!. I have driven it today and the Stop Start warning light has gone off, do you think I still require a new battery and can I get away with a cheaper battery as £300 is a lot coming into Christmas ⛄, thanks in advance 🙏

If the battery was fine before you went away and charging it has made the warning light go out i’m sure it’ll be fine, if the warning light returns in the next few weeks it probably means the battery is deteriorating so possibly worth looking at. Regards battery price, £300 seems a bit steep to me, was that a dealer price? If you google Tanya batteries and put your reg number in there you’ll be able to find one at a more reasonable price I’d imagine

Thanks so much for that helpful info, yes £300 was main dealer parts price, hopefully still some life left in the battery, I'll have a look at Tanya and thanks again 🙏

£300 is totally mad. I use a set of jump leads to connect the new battery to the cars leads so power was not lost on my Bravo, nothing needed resetting so one 13mm nut on the retaining strap and one 10mm nut on the positive lead. The negative probably has a quick release fitting which is a lever. I would expect teh battery to be around £130 and garage should be able to fit it in 10 minutes. My daughter just waits for the battery to go flat and calls the RAC who come out and fix it for the cost of the battery. Their price was unexceptional so not too bad in other words. I dont recommend this approach though.
