I chucked the CD in ot very loud,
1) The boot leeks shed loads air!
2) The backSeat rattles like a biatch!
3) Loads of other little vibes anf rattles!
How can this bee fixed, i have insu tape on the back seat, any better fixes?
How much will soundproofing sort this out?
or do i need to go round the whole car tightening everything up?
Cheers Guys

Get out your screw driver and hexagonal wrenches :D

bit of locktite will help keep them in

Have you done any soundproofing so far?

Best way is actually to use a sweep tone or lots of single tones and work out what rattles at what freq.

i agree with tom... you will sort the all out for one frequency and then you will get loads of different ones as soon as a differnt one come on!

Just need to address them all individualy! if you can not screw it down more then add weight to it... it depends on fixings etc... you will figure it out as you find them you will have to improvise as to how you can stop them.

Its a proper bass test cd with
10hz
30hz
35hz
40hz
90hz
100 hz to 20hz (warble)#
So if i sayplay track 1 on repeat then find rattles, fix them,
then repeat for track 2 so and so on, Yeah?

Pete

then play the 100-20 and find loads more inbetween!lol.. :) sound deadening is such a fun job!lol..

Yeah, a few mins up the road from soton.

Aquaseal is the stuff from B&Q but you can get cheaper ;)

:( not to worry... it seems everything i get there is a cheaper equivalent! and its probably better... although i bought enough to do my car and it only cost £40ish so i aint that worried....

Paul R

Paul, you probably wouldn't have saved any then, you need to buy about £100 worth to save which is enough to do every panel on the car at least once.

Maybe i havent got enough then! I have covered roof and rear quarters and starte the boot floor and i still have a big chunk left on the roll... i still have another one! i am covering the pannels completly! not with little squares...

Paul R

Boot lid and doors and door cards and rear quater trim and bootlid trim.....

I think my doors took about 1sqm each. Roof looks about 2-3sqm depending on sunroof or not.

LOL...Well i think i will leave the sunroof as it is! :)

I can not remember how much i bought...quite a bit! even if its not enough it will definatly only need 1 more roll which is only £20!

Paul R

yeah, in a roll thing! there was stuff you can paint on aswell but i didnt think that would work? takes a bit of working to make it stick, but once its stuck it aint coming off!lol...

Paul R

@ Dan the cds just one i downloaded from the unis network using itunes,
ican e-mail it to ya if you want it.

@ Paul where did u buy your stuff, cos i really wanna reduce the noise in my car? And @ £20 quid a roll i`ll get a couple after xmas.

Cheers
