We were stopped in Calais last Saturday on the way home from Perpignan (in the wife's Citroen bus thing)............the customs officers were more interested in the quality of the wine I had picked up than who was in the car!!! I am sure I could have shipped in a bunch if 'illegals' and the French authorities wouldn't have given a hoot as long as I had not bought a load of crap wine!!

An anecdote............
Years ago returning from an exhibition set-up in Europe somewhere (cant remember), I was stopped at the Eurotunnel by customs for a spot check in my van. All was going swimmingly with me stood at the rear of the van with a couple of French customs guys discussing the weather whilst a lady customs person had a sniff around my van with her spaniel. Suddenly they all became rather serious, speaking foreign so I couldnt understand:eek: The lady came to me at the rear of the van and said "my dog cannot smell". Well, me being me immediately said "not much use as a sniffer dog then":D That went down like a lead balloon..........
They then proceeded to completely strip my van. When I say completely I mean the wooden sides, floor, the bloody lot:( So, after an hour and them not taking kindly to any more of my jibes, they found nothing.Turned out that the "problem" was that weeks earlier I had been carrying Hugo Boss after-shave concentrate in 10 gallon drums and one of them had leaked into my wooden floor thereby negating the need for me ever having to buy air fresheners for the van ever again but the customs thought I was trying to mask the smell of drugs:eek:
I learnt one thing that day.......the French dont have a sense of humour(y)

Before i got mine (in 12 days it will a year

) i never noticed many B in the road. Now there 3 others in my town , orange silver and red,and i meet a couple of them in trips around Greece.I must have seen over 25 or 30.The most strange B was a yellow with yellow bucket seats ,3 dials in the left A-pillar,a big rpm meter and a Nos switch next to the gear stick.(n)
Every time i saw her i didnt have the camera with me.

Just been told I am getting a project in North Yorkshire - so there may be a Red one buzzing around up there for a few months from mid September (unless I can find a way to wriggle out of it and stay 'down South' where my house, wife and children are!!)...........

Was in my van this morning 5mins from home in Enfield when this little red no. came up beside me.

Tried to say hello but the lady was either blind, deaf or very rude .

Nice plate though.
