JIIHAA! :D
Week has gone and b is now back on the roads (again ) running smoother than ever, today parts arrived and main problem was solved. (y)

I was just wondering when I changed "bobines" that whats the difference between NGK BKR6EK & BKR6EKC spark plugs?

my b have had those whitout C and manual says that it should be with C.. should I get new ones?

My variator needs replacing, sounds like a truck and has lost performance on the bottom end - almost like driving a car with too much choke out............

FYI, a couple of you guys have asked me to contact DTR and see if they will sell Variators as spare parts. Just to let you know I have not been ignoring you however DTR seem to have been ignoring me!! I have dropped them a number of eMails now and left a couple of voicemails but they have not returned any of them yet.

As soon as I do manage to speak with them I will let you know costs and availability etc...........

Did you want to buy parts to repair the variator or want to buy new variators..
Harry

Bugger :bang:

hmm, that's not the first time they've been reported about a lack of response.

I can supply variators price will be about £75.00 plus vat.(with receipt) plus postage, can also supply genuine and pattern cambelt kits etc.
If that is any good let me know.

That sounds excellent to me! I need to figure out what the drivetrain noise is, it does not sound good and is getting louder - I have checked the obvious (wheel bearings, brakes for binding etc) but cannot trace it, I am a bit worried that it may be the main gearbox bearing - not too sure how to check that without removing the g'box...................

I may well be in touch for some other parts before the variator!

Top chap, although there may be a change in priority as LRB has started making a horrendous sound from the drivetrain somewhere.......................

What does the noise sound like? is it a rumble, knock, grinding could it be the cv joint as I think at some stage your'e going to replace the cv boots.

P.s I have got plenty of variators
Did you speak to Lloyd at Clovertech at the ACE about the repair kits.

Hey Harry, sorry for the delay in responding - I have been away for a couple of days and only just plugged the laptop back in!

The noise sounds for all of the world like a wheel bearing, in fact it virtually disappears on a right hand bend and gets louder on a left - I have jacked her up and there is no play in the wheels at all which is why I am doubting a wheel bearing..........

I may run around for another week and check again, if its getting worse the cause may become more obvious.

Is the noise a rumbling sound from the B
Harry

Nope, although I do have that as well!

Mine is coming from the running gear or transmission, only happens over about 15-20 mph and is then constant - it really sounds like a wheel bearing but I have check them all and they seem fine. The other possibility is one of the inner CV joins are dry/on its way out...........but I recently re-greased them both so it does not seem likely - stumped!! :(

Could someone who have that orginal fiat subwoofer box put up couple close-up piccies, maybe some measures too? :)

BTW. is there any proper color code for mk2 headlight's innerpart? is it just silver? same that been used in interior?

Planning little something for winter time.. ;)

Here's some pictures of mine. I replaced the original Fiat speakers and amp with some Infinity reference speakers that sound ace. Dimensions are roughly 92cm x 25cm.

Hope this helps.
