Bear with me on this... its going to be obvious I know nothing about cars.
I have a 58 reg, 1.9D Bravo 120, which was recently 5 years old.
In celebration of this it had its timing belt changed, and a service, at a Fiat main dealer.
That was a couple of weeks back..
Today I have driven a very short distance and discovered a serious (to me) sounding problem... when I depress the clutch and stop at lights etc.. the car vibrates like crazy and the engine makes what can only be described as a sick noise.. its a combination or rattling, banging, knocking and general diesel noises. (I did mention im not car savvy right)
The noise will continue when it sits at idle, but dissapears and the vibration stops when moving..
I assume this is bad. What I need to know (my service place shut at 5.30 about 4 minutes after I found the fault), is what on earth do I do now.
I will ring them in the morning, but they are a good 10 miles away.. should I risk driving it to them? (Ill ask their advice of course)
Anyone venture any guesses as to what might be wrong? (My assumption is something to do with the timing belt since that got changed)
Thanks,
Sam
