Hi all.

Finally got round to my second minor mod the past couple of days.

Spraying the front fiat badge black so it blends with the grill!! Lovely!!

It cost me £6 - 1 can of grey primer, 1 can of black satin.

Here is my little lady before hand

Nice but typical.

So heres how I did it:
1. Opened the Bonnet and used an 8m long reach socket to undo the front facia plate.

2. Popped out the badge (easy, just held in with 2 pegs.

3. Gave the badge a good clean and dry so the primer sticks well.

4. Gave it two coats of primer about 20 mins apart, then left for about 12 hours (can said 24 buts i figuired its only a little thing)

5. Repeated with black paint, then left for 12 hours again. Popped her back in and put a little glue on the inside of the pegs.

6. Bolted the facia back on! Jobs a good'en

And how she loves it!! Just look at her smiling!!

Nice and subtle :)

Wasn't tempted to keep the chrome and paint the blue bits red?

Funny you should say that Insomnia.
My dad said the very same thing only after I'd just sprayed it all.
And yes i believe it would have looked nicer.
But theres always a next time.
Think the next job is smoked repeaters.

the hammer looks out of place on the table, like your ready to smash it up,

looking good mate!

On a Mk2 grill id paint just behind the badge like this photoshop. So the horizontal lines still flow right.

Been there, done that. Didn't last for long :)

Ended up like this for a number of months on the grille...
