Hi all, new poster here with a problem with the aux belt.
I'm not all that familiar with the 1.9d Multijet engine, although I do know my way around engines in general.
The aux belt is getting thrown off, so I've taken off the wheel and had a poke around what I can see of the pulleys and belts through the wheel arch area.
All the pulleys seem ok (turning freely and without noise or roughness) except the air con pulley. Looked at from the side, it appears to be rotating with a wobble, and it's also quite noisy. When I rock it from side to side there's quite a bit of play: is this normal with these motors? I believe the pulley is clutched - could the play and wobble be present because the clutch is not engaged?
Is it possible to bypass the air con compressor altogether, with a shorter belt?
Many thanks in advance for any guidance!
