Technical  Auto Stop/Start not working

Randomly started working again about two weeks ago. Works about 30% of the time. Also sometimes cuts the engine even on a hill. Sometimes cuts the engine on completely flat road at traffic lights then starts 5 seconds later without touching anything or putting in gear. Actually more annoying like this, did anyone every figure out a way to override permanently?
Why not just disconnect the sense wire on the starter battery earth terminal - that should disable the stop/start and may also dumb down the alternator so it outputs a contant charge voltage (like the good old days!). (It may be this wire is loose and causing your issue anyway).

Worth a try, they often get disturbed after a battery change.:)

How do I tell which one that is?

There was a guy in Poland selling a gadget on ebay that electronically presses the button to turn off the stop/start every time you turn on the ignition. But I can't find it now. I wonder if he has been stopped - is it illegal as the start/stop is part of emission control?
