I normally get just over 400 miles from a tank in my 2.0 20v Marea, no matter what type of road/mood of driving.

I kept records of every fill-up and mile I'd done since I bought the car in January 2007 - June 2007. In that time, over 6500 miles and an average of 32.88 MPG. Not bad, considering I don't often hang about.

Managed an average of 35 MPG when I first bought it, then only 30 MPG the next month when I started testing it a bit :) - The guys on the forum and other sites suggested a 20v Marea would only average in the low to mid 20's, so I was happy enough.

That was rush hour travel aswell!!!! :)

My JTD gave 427 miles on half a tank this week and the tank before last it gave 637 miles when the red light had just come.

My excel fuel spreadsheet calculated 58.97mpg for last but one fill up, and the most recent being 54.3mpg for lots of driving around the lanes and coast of north norfolk in pouring rain.

I fill the tank brim to brim every time irrespective of how much fuel I've used and only buy Shell/BP diesel and use Miller's diesel additive. Average annual mpg according to my spreadsheet is currently 54.3mpg. I've maintianed spreadsheets for many years now and for the last few years that I've had the Bravo. I do about 8-10,000 miles a year at present. Average cost per mile for the JTD on fuel basis is 7.9p. Factor in tax, insurance, MOT, etc and the cost is about 14p/mile.

In winter mpg drops abit to about 49-50mpg but can still get 52/53 if careful. It has never been below 48mpg even when driven hard which is pointless if done frequently as I don't want a shagged car or to be constantly replacing tyres, brakes and suspension.

I suggest everyone creates a spreadsheet for cost of running their car. It reveals the true cost. It contains every expense I make on the car. It's not hard to do you just need to be proficient at basic Excel.

I have the 170bhp remap which can also makes driving fun on occasions.

I bet your fun at a party or social gathering anon...lol. :) (only joking, its probably best i dont keep a record like you as i always tend to spend silly amounts on cars and i think i might actually cry if i kept track!)
