Weird that !!! i have being doing just that filled up to the top 2 weeks ago ,im now just below halfway and so far done 446 miles...but im sure the needle drops quicker after halfway will let you know when the dreaded red light comes on...although ive never let it come on before.

I only got about 550miles per tank wen I had the JTD... mainly cos I don't drive like a grandad and try to get to kates as quick a poss!!!

My biggest problem is I do really well.. like over 300miles before 1/2 a tank.. then I get bored and boot it everywhere and only get 550mile


Them 250 mile tho are much better then the last 300... so I don't care

i didnt crash it it was some one who borrowed it for the day it got repaired after 3weeks of tarting arround then to top it off it got broke into a week later in manchester when i went to see a customer grrrr.

the problem is all these new derv's are pretty quick but heavy and keep catching the old boys in the office out the 530d is an animal for a derv!

Ben, how did you manage that? I only get 300 miles from a tank. Is yours alot of motorway miles?

not really, since iv got that last tank iv bn driving economically, speed limits, low revs iv got bord ofit now bt thought that would be something to remember lol. i do a lot of a roads on my time off which may be why. i also use redex if i cantget super unleaded

Ah, my habit of putting it in 2nd and booting it might affect my economy. The longest I've lasted keeping it at low revs is from my house to college or work. Only about 10 miles lol.

Does Redex make that much difference? I only use BP Super Unleaded if I can help it.

i got 400 miles out of my marea and that was a 2.0, mind you it was ALL motorway, hang on i did get it to touch 120.... for about 10 sec then my wife woke up...bloody sound great on full chat

@Richard, how many litres did you put in the tank to fill it up after 545 miles. I bet you would've got over 600miles

I Put in 42.6 ltrs so yes your right its just i never let the red light come on normally.
