Just wondered if this would reduced any of the rattles and bangs you get in an old coachbuilt motorhome? Many kits on ebay at a cheap price but the twin gauge type seem to be for 2006 on? Ours a 2002 x230. Any input welcome

thanks Ronnie

Yes, definitely it would make the ride more comfortable. For me it's a must in a camper.

There's a well known Polish company, I know they had someone who was driving all around the UK installing the kits to the clients. I will most probably do the install on my Ducato with them (if they will find a way around the gas cylinder mounts...)

They have kits for the x230 ('81 - '94), x244 ('94 - '06) and the x250/x290 (06' -).

And there's a local UK number on their FB fanpage:

Its just a question of asking the supplier of the kit for your van for a price of the items you want. My supplier only advertised single gauge kits but supplied a dual kit when asked for price.

So X230 was only until 94 I thought the model changed in 2002? Mine is the older cab pre 2002 so 94 - 2002

Thanks Ronnie

According to wikipedia, the first generation was produced until 1993/1994 (Italian and Polish wiki say 1994, the model was presented in 1993):

In 2002 they made a facelifting of the x244.

The facelifting of the x250 was made in 2011.

ZFA230 so a 230 then, thanks good to know for sure
That looks strange though...

Can you post a photo of the front of your motorhome?

The only possible thing that goes to my mind is that they made a conversion on a 8 year old chassis and then made a second homologation which gave it a new production year.

The same is with my van. The chassis has been made in 2011, the primary homologation was issued in 2011, then the box was installed in 2012 and the second homologation + all of the documents say produced in 2012. But it's only a year apart. Or even less, apparently the chassis left the factory between Christmas and the new year.

I can't tell if it could be possible between 1994 and 2002 :D

So it's same cab as this van

So, it's definitely the second generation Ducato. Same as says wiki in the link I've sent earlier. A pre-lift body. The facelifting first visual change were larger, more rounded headlights.

I've heard about some other makes / models in the very, very beginning of the production kept the VIN number from the older model. But 8 years...

I've only found ads with facelift 2nd gen ducato's and all of them have their VIN starting with ZFA244.
