I noticed yesterday that the light on the ASR button is coming on after starting my Panda. It then goes off again. I never touch it really as I don't see the point of switching it off.

If you switch the ignition to the first position, of course, all the lights come on as normal, including the light on the ASR button. When most go out so does the ASR button. But I've noticed when I start the ignition the ASR light comes on again for 2 seconds and then goes out again.

This wouldn't be an indication of a possible fault would it? Or have I simply never noticed in 2 years it did this?

Of course, it is quite possible I'm just cracking up. :D

Sounds OK to me. The light comes on during the self check at startup. If it comes on in normal driving then there could be a fault (unless you've pressed the button to turn it off).

The light on the ASR button won't come on to indicate a fault- it merely indicates if the switch has been pressed or not. The ABS warning lamp in the instrument cluster is for signalling a fault. ;)

Listen to this man, he's got it 100% right ;)
