My clutch has been clicking for several months!

I have heard the horror stories but as yet it has held up. This is a replacement clutch after 14000 miles as my first clutch was juddering severely upon pulling away so fiat replaced it under warranty.

It doesn't seem to affect performance or the bite point but it is really annoying!! It clicks just on the bite. Car is still under warranty till March but they say there's nothing wrong.

It's a 1.2sx 2001 on 24000 miles if that makes a difference.

Should I be worried?

Cheers

My clutch used to click when putting my clutch down (not bringing it back up). This lasted a couple of weeks before the clutch collapsed (also 1.2 sx at 74k)

Sy B also had a clicking clutch for a while. His also collapsed.

Seems to be a problem with the clutch release bearing

These are our experiences and not necessarily the same as yours.

Could be slightly missaligned release bearing or one thats about to die.

I'd get it looked at, it won't cost you anything.

My bravo has always juddered when cold.

Cheers

Thanks guys for your quick replys.

It's been like this for at least 6 months if not longer. So mis-alighned sounds more probable.

Tom - forgot to say it does it even if the engine isn't running - does that make any difference?

Re: Cheers

Yeah mine juddered since i got it in Jan 02, Then when i drove to wigan to meet wimmy it started to click and get stiff in traffic, Wimmy diagnosed the fault as it was the same as his, Only lasted me the 15 mile home journey then it collapsed while i was trying to reverse into my space! Lucky me lol
