What is the point of the arm rest on the Stilo ?

I find I can't get at the handbrake with it down, so I end up leaving it in the upright position all the time.

I've been wondering if its a problem unique to the right hand drives, any one else got any views on this ?

in the cars ive had with armrests its been the same,i think its aimed mainly at motorway driving or as polecat said when your parked.although i like the mercedes version where the handbrake is on the dash so you can keep the arm rest down all the timeB)

I love my armrest. Wouldn't drive without it anymore.

True it does get in the way of the handbrake, but seeing as I only use the handbrake when the car is staitionary it's not a great problem.

Hi janevj

You can fit the armrest to your car, but you need to put a new centre console in to accomodate it. I was looking into it when I was going to buy an Active, but ended up with a dynamic instead! :D

Fiat could do worse than copy the design on the BMW - the arm rest is sort of L-shaped so it doesn't get in the way of the handbrake.

I really like the armrest in the Stilo. Nothing better on a long journey than sticking the cruise on while leaning on the armrest. Very comfy!

(Did obstruct the handbrake a bit but you can't have everything!!)
