Hello all,

I have an Mac-formatted iPod which won't work with Blue&Me. I've been told it's purely a file format issue, i.e. change the files to mp3 in iTunes and all will be well. Is that true?

The computer the iTunes library is on has died, so am thinking about buying a laptop to replace it, then re-importing all my CDs. If the Blue&Me will work with a Mac-formatted iPod + MP3s, the new machine will be a Macbook. If it won't work, it'll have to be a PC.

Sorry for the long post, but can anyone give a definitive answer?

Cheers,
Julie

Noooooooo! Don't say that. I've talked myself into buying a Macbook now. I wonder if I can Windows format it using iTunes on a Mac ...

You can run Windows on a Mac, no problems. I've got XP on my iMac.
It's dual boot, done using a Mac utility called "bootcamp". There are also a couple of options that allow you run Windows directly within OSX. One option is called "parallels". It's handy if you need to keep switching between OSX and Windows, although the bootcamp method is cheaper - bootcamp is free, you just need a copy of XP SP2 or later.

Carl,
You're a star, thanks for that (y) Not cheap though, eh?
One more question, have you had to convert all your files to mp3 as well as using the dongle?

Cheers,
Julie

Only reads the track names, albums and artists from the iPod, the actual audio is just played straight from the iPod.

You'll also need to update your B&M to 5.4.11 for this to work properly.
