8 weeks is rubbish, my original delivery date was 5-6 week and mine is on the scrapage deal too and it was held up by the paperwork

One of the salesmen from my dealership told me today that status's are jumping from 20-50 really quickly and they have a huge shipment coming in on Monday. Sadly...My car is at Status 10 
I called by the dealer (early morning and dark) a few days back, there were a lot of newly delivered 500s and Pandas there. I had a look about and found my car! Later in the morning phoned the dealer, and am taking delivery Tuesday pm. Well excited...how sad am I?? Just thinking about mats, iPod adapter, coat hook etc now, gonna try to get some discount, or shop around.
Wow, how lucky was that!! I'd go down to the dealers as well, but I'm out of a car at the moment and it's hard getting there by bus!
Really happy that you're collecting on Tuesday - bet you're well excited! I'm interested in getting the iPod holder, I wonder how much it costs..

I phoned my dealer yesterday and was told that my car is going to be in the country on 9 November (instead of 23rd) and I should be able to pick it up on 16th. How exciting... getting closer now...!!!
Don't want to **** on your parage but a week between arriving in the country and you getting the key in your hand is very unlikely.

I think it's wrong to build people's hopes up Ok, I'm getting nervous now. Placed an order on Monday, under the scrappage scheme. Dealer told us that the car had to be delivered in 120 days - no mention that if not we could lose the scrappage allowance. We are scrapping our van, and tax and MOT due at end of Jan, so planning to give it to the garage before then. Surely they couldn't scrap it then say we can't have the allowance if the car doesn't come in time?
Why give it to them before your car arrives?
I'd imagine to save the expense of an MOT. Especially if it's not a vehicle used all the time.
Because I'm not sure it'll get through the MOT, and don't want to pay for car tax. Don't have anywhere to store it either

Of late most people have had to wait 2 weeks or so to get their car from the time it's landed in the UK.SmoothHound

On 1 friday I got a call to say the the car is at status 16 (after 12 weeks)...less than a week later it has arrived at the show room. I didn't even get a call to say it was in the country.
The updates recieved from many dealers suck......The normal wait is roughly 12-14 weeks, so I wasn't too bothered with updates. Stick to that time frame and you won't be disappointed.
