Hi,

This is my first post as i'm a new Marea owner, picked up an R reg 20v ELX two weeks ago and i am very very impressed so far, unbelievable car for a bargain. Now then to the question, it does need its timing belt doing and reading through the threads here Fiat is out of the question  and i don't have the space or equipment to tackle this on my own so, does anyone know any reputable garages or individuals in the North West area (hopefully Manchester way) that would be willing to do this for a reasonable price, you would be a life saver if you do.

Many thanks, Glynn :)

Hi Glynn,

Welcome to the forum. I was in exactly the same position as you, don't let them tell you the engine has to come out - it's fiddly but can be done in situ. There's a photo how-to in the tech section if it's any help either to you or a mechanic.

Agree about the car though, they are dead cheap and I kinda like mine already - only had it a month :)

I can go into garages now knowing what i'm talking about after reading through the threads, i have done a few cambelts in the past one on a 306 XSI and one on an Intergrale but unfortunatley have nowhere to even attempt this otherwise i'd be stuck in. I'm hoping to get someone for under £500 i think i read somewhere in Warrington does them. I've got a few little bits missing on the interior does the interior trim from Brava/Bravo fit or are Mareas unique ? also the rear speakers are not working is this a common problem or something simple ? Thanks for the welcome i think this site may come in handy (y)
