I just saw an ad for an 88 model available just a stone's throw from me. And at a pretty low price.

Is this a good car? I currently drive a 96 Uno Fire.
Are there any specific problems with these cars etc.?
Any info would be appreciated.

Aside form the usual italian electronic issues the main problems on UK lancias were rust

however being from portugal you shouldnt have too many concerns on that side of things

it does look in very good condition for a 22 year old car

Thanks man, actualy I'm form South Africa, i.e. the right hand drive.
I think I'm going to look at the car tommorrow, Its looking pretty well treated in the photos I have of it, and apparently was overhauled recently, I see there is also a turbo available but I guess that would be a petrol drinker extrodinaire.

Bushes on rear suspension arms go at about 50k . Same as with the Croma (almost the same car underneath). No specific issues elswhere. These were rare in the Uk . I nearly bought one at the end of their run but opted for a second croma instead. Good luck with it.

Back in the naughty nineties I had a 8V turbo, bought at 50000, sold after 6 years rather tired, but 160000 miles. Always did 30 mpg. About 190 bhp. The only bush replaced was the engine top stabiliser, and I fitted bushes only. Did the cam and balance belt once at about 80000. Replaced rear struts and all old bushes were reused.
Compared with new cars it is very light, just over 1 ton. Also invisible. While friends in BMW and similar were always getting pulled the Lancia was never even seen.
In the UK this wouild have almost no value.
