Looking into this heavily at the moment as I have just had enough of wearing the bins. Will be looking to get it done in February/March to use up the last of this years holiday but am looking for people's testimonials - who you used, results, after-effects, etc.

Have read many testimonials on the web but there is no substitute for getting them from sources you know.

I want it but the cost puts me of and the fact they remove a layer of skin

Mates dad had it done they messed up but fixed it later so

I will have it done when its even more established

There is a how its made clip on it
semi interesting vedio clips

and the hows its amde one with some freak

Cheers Daz. Fortunately for me the cost is not an issue at this point. Also, when you think how much you can end up spending on specs, lenses, solutions etc. over the years it's actually quite cost effective in the long run.

Looking at that vid actually makes me feel a bit better about it so thanks. :)

Thought of it a little, but bless the fact that I can see 20:20 with glasses, and realise that I'm like this for a reason (what it is only he upstairs knows).

I find wearing glasses no problem and don't see any point in possibly messing my sight up, possibly compleatly, when I am able to see 20:20 without the proceedure.

I think it comes a little down to a question like this. Would you rather be able to see 20:20 even with glasses or contacts knowing all is well, and all will remain well, or without these, and be without these (but possibly only until your sight worsens again with age) but risk loosing sight?

Holy thread hijack Batman! This is about laser eye surgery not contacts people!

Back on topic please. (y)

The thing that worries me is that until your about 40 your eye's can change so your prescription changes. As you can't have laser done everytime your prescription changes how long will it last and what happens as you get long sighted as you get older.

My father is blind and has been since I was very young, so I am a little biased towards not messing with my eye's. You only get one pair and they don't grow back if you damage them too badly.

I want to know what it is like 20 years after the procedure.

Hi all. Not been on for a little while. I had my eyes lasered last week so I thought I'd let you all know how I got on.

Everything has gone great and my vision is already up to driving standard and expected to be 20/20 or better in the next couple of weeks as the healing continues and the inflammation subsides. All in all I would recommend it to anyone thinking about having it done and expect to feel more and more that way as the weeks pass.

I ended up having Ultralasek+Wavefront with Ultralase as they offer a full lifetime care option. This means that as I get even older than my already decrepid years if my eyes get to the point of needing specs again they will repeat the procedure for free! (y)

To answer the point made previously about late onset long sight and needing reading glasses: - as this condition relates to the elasticity of the eyes lens rather than the shape of the cornea there is currently no procedure avaialble to resolve the need for reading glasses for those 40+ years of age.

I can handle that - No more specs! WOO-HOOOOOOO!!! :D
