Renault 5 Turbo 2 for the win :slayer::

t2.jpg

I had a Gordini Turbo I was planning to restore but stupidly sold next to nothing. :(

Very rare mark 1 R5's now, used to be loads of the things about when I was a kid.

Edit: Turbo 2 on ebay :yum::yum: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-5-GT-TURBO-2-WIDE-ARCH-/320879928824?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4ab5ef25f8

escort RS1600 Mexico.
The ONLY luxury was a huge orange light which lit up once a week to let me know the engine needed a drink of oil :D
Mk11 capri
Upgraded that baby with a decent 8 track:slayer:

Went through a phase of running 'baby cars' as well (going back to the fun I had in my first car - datsun 100A)
little old 1litre Metro
fiat Uno - despite having a small diesel lump it was still nippy.

There are two cars which really do it for me, Mk1 Toyota Mr2s and Fiat Uno Turbos. I've owned loads of 80s/90's hot hatches but these two stand out.

I've lost count of how many Mk1 Mr2s I've owned, I've had 4 Mk2 Uno Turbos. I love cars of the 80's and 90's, not really interested in anything more modern.

Your thread title is spot on for me though, this is going to sound very sad but from time to time I get very vivid dreams about Mk2 Uno Turbos, when the dreams start, I usually end up buying one!

I currently own 4 Mk1 Mr2s :D Only one is road worthy though.

Cheers

Ollie

Most of mine were company cars, Escort XR3i, Lancia Y10 (this one's broken, I keep pressing the gas and nothing happ....holy sh) Turbo, Lancia Delta GT, Delta HF i.e. and my pride and joy DA-DE-DEERRRR!

I had the twin Stromberg carbs changed for 45 DCOEs (I think) along with gas flowed inlet manifold, free flow exhaust manifold and also had the head gas flowed with a fast road cam. Never had it dyno'd, in fact come to think about it, I couldn't have told you where there was a rolling road anywhere outside of a manufacturer's R&D department, but it proabably had around 180 bhp.

When you think that it weighed about as much as my Panda MJ with that sort of power then I think you could say it was pretty quick.

Fuel injection??? Nancy boy!!! You can stick your precise, efficient, environmentally friendly, emotionless injection where the sun has never shone. I'll stick with the farting belching carburettors.....if the bl**dy EU would let me.

Bring back the '70s! "Come on, come on, come on. Come on, come on, come on. Come on, come on, come on. D'ya wanna be in my gang, d'ya....." er, well, on reflection, maybe not

i had a silver 205 gti 1.9 non cat model with half leather interior i loved that car and it made me smile every time i drove it. i met a girl got a sensible job and needed a bigger more practical car the 205 went to auction and sold for 350 quid and i ended up driving a diesel fiat tempra estate.

i'd like to go back in time and give myself a massive ****ing slap.:bang:

i also sold my mint fzr1000 genesis. should have dumped the bitch and kept the 205 and fzr.:) never again will a woman come between me and my bike or car.

remember racing against an astra gte in my 205 gti down the dual carriageway in southampton doing about a ton astra just about had the legs on me. hot hatches today are limp barely warm and ****e usually driven by tossers who are too scared of getting it dirty to drive it properly.

ocassionally get to drive my old sedicivalvole but it's just not the same as my old 205.

Women have a crazy affect on a man's mind:(, they don't want us to have nice cars, instead the other half want us to have sensible cars such as a people's carrier and diesel estates.

I lvoe the 80s hot hatches, wish I was around for when they were new.
Iv got 2 HF turbos :D, both need fair bit of work doing to them. One is ok though, on a H reg, but the other, a carb version on an F reg is a MASSIVE project. I pretty much need to build the shell its that rusty haha.
cant wait until the H reg one is on the road, Lancia for the win!
