hi just won a bid on a standard jtd spoiler.. from the lip of my rear... im gonna get it sprayed.. where and who can fit a spoiler?? is it hard?? what do i need to do it? cheers

I did mine and my side skirts myself. My spoiler is attached with Evostik. I can't remember the specific product name. Its something like "strongest stuff" and comes in a black caulk gun tube. It's like no nails, but better. I got it from work (B&Q) so I assume most DIY stores sell it.

didnt come with a spoiler or skirts... oh and i am gonna keep my car until i get a company car later on in the year... so to stop getting bored of it i am gonna touch it up..

very imense, its mega... and very good feeling... i tried to make a £250 offer and nigel rejected it... i dint quite have £300.. but it would be too dodgy if my insurance found out. and also a bad selling point. so i am just going with a spoiler and skirts for a year till i sell up.

I would have thought it would have been 155?!

And still very hard for insurance company to find it! AND if it was remapped, surely you just take it off at resale time and put original map back on [or don't tell new buyer, lol....hmmmm].

Personally, I would spend money on that instead of spoilers/skirts, but each to their own :)

I would spend money on both!!! (Or should I say 'am going to' ) ;) :D

I would have thought a remap would be attractive to buyers, more power from a diesel engine and sometimes better fuel economy. If you were to remove it, would you have to go back to the place where it was done?

I think the point is that pushing the JTD to 170BHP puts quite a stress on the engine and turbo?

A Fiat service manager was talking to me about the remaps once, he was praising them! He was telling me all about the cars they tuned up from Puntos to Multiplas. I asked him about engine wear and he said well as long as they dont get driven with foot down all day long there wouldnt be problems with it.........

Don't get me wrong, I think what they can do with modern diesels is just amazing, however, I doubt I am in the minority in worrying that you're putting power output 55BHP with a simple new exhaust and remap could be risking the engine/ancilleries. For example, the torque I assume is put up a similar amount? Can everything take that? (issues like that).

If there are no issues then fantastic but I have a feeling things like this are why I get the impression Nige is slightly, well "cagey" (maybe the wrong word) about the 170BHP. Of course, I might have the complete wrong impression!

Did you know the the V10 diesel engine had so much torque it would have pulled the Toureg (?) to pieces, they had to artifically detune the tourque!

yep :) PGH = my initials and STOCHAJ = my Polish family name, it's VERY rare (less than 100 or so with it world wide, only found 1 other in the UK, about 30 in US and the rest in Poland) and I like to keep it alive in some ways as the name will have died in this generation of our family sadly. Stockhacj or similar is the highest point in one of the Scandavian countries as far as I could work out. I know it won't interest you or anybody but I have fairly interesting (to some :p) roots.
