just wondering if anyone has upgraded to it, i upgraded couple days ago, and im loving the new interface! makes it so much simpler. only thing i cant find, is the 'system' menu that used to be at the top, which had the 'preferences' and 'administration' sub menus.
Apart from that its great (y)

iv upgraded both my laptop and desktop, and my laptop is running the same as 10.10 was running (y).
does anyone have an ubuntu 1 account? iv never signed up for it, but im tempted, whats it all about?

Im pretty sure the screen drivers on 10.10 are not quite as slick as Windows. But I've tried the OEM Linux drivers and they were really awful.

Im running an ASUS like this with an Athlon 3.11 dual core and 4 gigs RAM.

My dad upgraded his and it f***ed up half way through leaving a half installed version I could only boot using recovery mode.

Managed to fix it for him from recovery mode. It does look the nutz, they making it more user friendly fo sho love the new "start menu" like menu which is more like the Windows 7 one.

mine was running good on the laptop, but now software centre wont run, and is still the old one, i didnt realise there was a new one with ubuntu 11. also it wont update, iv tried through terminal and update manager, ut neither works. and also synaptic manager doesn't work , iv googled, and been on the forum, but i cant get it to work. im going to have to back everything up on my desktop in a folder, and completely reinstall it. the desktop, touch wood, always runs fine, better than the laptop i daresay, which is surprising syaing its 18 months older than the laptop, and only has half as much ram, and the hd is 100gig less. there both acer aspires to. as good as my laptop is, it just goes to show desktops are still more stable than laptops.

Just download the iso file and put it onto a USB stick.

I like the new interface (mostly) though on mine the slide-out launcher toolbar got stuck. Maybe it will be ok when I restart Ubuntu. It does seems to have speeded up the graphics on mine which is good.

mine gets stuck every time I open libre office excel. theyl release an update to to fix it :)
the rest of my problems i had are gone :), i found some line to type into terminal, and it 'released' alot of things and boom! my laptops working perfectly

That happens when the software gets confused about where the physical screen actually is compared to the virtual desktop.

I had the same problem in Windows with Paintshop Pro 5 when the master screen was reearranged after the software had been split across both screens.
