Technical Any tips on alternator belt tightening?

Hi all

Any tips on tightening up the alternator belt in a Mpi Sei - it just feels a bit loose to me and it's squealing a bit from cold. The belt itself looks relatively new (and poly V belts normally last quite long anyway), I just think it wants tensioning a bit to stop it making a noise. I know about the procedure of tightening an alternator drive belt as I've done it many times on other cars but never on the Sei and you can't get at any of the nuts :bang:

What, if anything, needs to come off to do the job, or does anyone have any tips to make the job a bit easier?

Driverside wheel and wheel arch liner need to come out really to get any decent sort of access to the alternator

Okay, cheers Seems a bit much to have to go that extreme just to tighten an alternator belt. Glad the cars going soon

The hardest bit is the third mounting behind the engine. You could do with a 2nd person under the car.
