In my punto at the moment i just have the standard speakers i think there are tweaters up front some sort of subs in the doors and then the factory fited speakers in the rear.

I dont have that much money at the moment so im just wondering what would be the best thing to do to get the best sound/bass

Am i best off just replacing the speakers thats already in with new better ones ?
What are 8" subs like i like the idea of doing a custom build in the boot but this may sound stupid but im not wanting to take that much room up in there.

Any surgestions would be good thanks.

Could you be more specific about your budget?

You could just replace the standard speakers with coaxials if the budget is tight. If you can stretch to a sub and amp, so much the better. It all depends on the budget. It would also be beneficial to uprate the headunit too. (y)

Yeah thats kinda why my budget is tight :) ive just got enough cash to do the head unit and ipod adapter, so at the moment im not really sure how much cash i will hav for the speakers but im thinking a couple of hundred im really not sure, and its difficult since im really not wanting to loose that much boot space but still have a decent sound.

Are you saying you have a couple of hundred for some speakers and a sub? Easily done (y)

A 10 or 12 inch sub enclosure won't take up too much boot space..............

You should be able to get a sub, speakers and an amp(s) to run it all of for a couple of hundred, especially if you pick up end of line stuff/second hand.

Personally, I would look to buy a set of front components, a sub and either a 4 channel amp or 2 2 channel amps, depending on what you can find. I don't like rear speakers - messes up the soundstage IMO.

Have a look around, in the local papers, eBay etc and see what you can find (y)

Its worth checking out empire direct online for buying speakers, cheapest place I've found by far, cheaper than ebay half the time....
