Hi all a just got a black cinquecento sporting for a project!:D
not sure if to get a turbo for my 1.1, or a bigger engine and turbo:devil:. or maybe just play for reliability and put a 1.2-1.4 16v???:bang:
anyone had experience with this?

Thanks guys! just had a look and the turbo kit for the 1.1 sounds best. just need to look after it more. id like 1.4 16v non turbo but dont wanna lose cornering!

How you going to loose cornering? The 1.4 16v superfire is probably no heavier than a 1.1 with turbo, intercooler and associated gubbins. Note that there are two 1.4 engines -- the SuperFIRE and the old archaic lump of a thing (which needs massive reworking to the engine bay to fit).

Oh fight cos it said 1.4 make cornering worse but ill look at the superfire. what do they cost just to buy ish? ive had alot of friend who's had GT Turbos and other yurbo cars and had probs(n)

1.4 uno tub in a Cinq is going to understeer like a pig: let's face it, even in the Uno they never got the handling sorted. In it's favour, the 1.4 Uno tub mill is tough as old boots. If only it didn't weigh as much as a boat anchor........

You can pick up SuoperFIRE engines and boxes from the stilo 1.4 16v (marginally the easiest to fit) for less than £400 the lot. Add on an exhaust mani and exhaust to suit, a 1.2 16v inlet mani, air filter, an aftermarket ECU (or a remapped 1.2 16v or 1100 MPI one), 14 or 15" wheels, uprated brakes and suspension. Spend carefully and it should be doable (DIY) for around 1500 squids.

thats about what i had in mind to do. this stilo engine, does it fit in from under like the 1.1?

thats not bad goin at all:slayer:
I got to get mine done after the winter.(y)
turbo? not for me to much looking after:(

dunno, engine is ~95bhp-100bhp in the Stilo, soooo considering my exhaust, tb, induction, ecu etc.. er i dunno, add some numbers on

:worship: got to get mine done.
i seen a 1.4 16v stilo engine £300. are they all same or is there diff types of the stilo 1.4?

All the 16v 1.4s in the Stilo will be the same. The Grande Punto and 500 ones are a little different (have a sort of wart on the head which messes a little with the valve timing -- for emissions, I think, and a sort of two step induction system). Get the gearbox too: it's said to be tougher than the 5 speed Cinq/Sei box and you do really need a 6 speed box.

Oh ok. take it stilo is 5 speed? and the ecu and coil pack? stilo or sporting punto? any other hints welcome:D
