Evenin'..
In the middle of some work on the old man's 92 Tipo 1.4 and I've run into a couple of problems.
1. The inboard driveshaft boots were totally shot, so he ordered some replacements from a local supplier (not Fiat). Pulled the driveshafts out no problem and pulled the boots and bearings off. However, new boots that come with bearings pre-fit only fit the right hand shaft. The left hand shaft appears to be slimmer; the bearing that fits the right hand shaft will slide all the way down the left hand shaft to the CV - is this correct? Do I have the wrong part or a dodgy driveshaft?
2. The anti roll link bush was shot to bits where it engages with the anti roll bar, giving the damn annoying clunk over every little bump. Ordered a new link from Fiat as the bush is an integral part of the new one. Removed the old one same time as the driveshaft, but it appears to have left behind a part on the anti roll bar, which don't seem to want to come off. Now I'm hoping that it's not part of the bar and is just being stubborn as the new link won't go on with it there. Hard to describe, so I shoved the mobile in there and took a pic - apologies for the quality, but it was raining, dusk and the camera's useless
