Hey all,

about 2 weeks ago i bought a marea weekend 2.0 20v from '97
everything is there..1 red key,2 blue keys,1 of them has a tag on the keyring with the 4 digit code, and the arming/disarming key(that little round thing :p)

now here's the problem :

the central doorlocking with the blue keys works just fine but for the alarm nothing happens,no warninglights,no beeps,no nothing
so i did a bit of reading here but couldnt find any answer wich fitted my problem

i did try the programming thing with the button on the roof(mine has a green LED),did seem to work, according to the LED flashing the code was entered sucsesfull but at the end of the procedure the LED goes out instead of flashing or staying on
i also tried the switch under the hood(pressing it 7 times within 10 seconds) but that also didnt do anything

the led in the dash doesnt do anything either, just stays off

So what do you guys think what the problem could be ??

thx in advance

At the junction control unit(fuse box) the service fuse is Number10
This fuse is for ----
1 .internal lights front and back
2 .instrument supply on models up to Dec 2000
3 .remote control reciever and alarm control unit supply
4 .car fone power supply / tester output.

Above the junction control unit (fuse box)is a supplementary fuse box for front and rear wiring. So would be worth checking these fuses as well.

Thank you for you time! I know its sounds silly but can you send a picture of it wich one is wich one and where? I`m very poor in electronic DIY...

Sounds like the alarm has been deactivated to me. I'd put that alarm key to use and see if it's been deactivated. Quite common as alarm problems are notoriously difficult to resolve and most people prefer to just disable the alarm.

Hello again!

Read through again the forum for alarm-remote issues in Marea category.
I had another 3hours with the alarm "programming" today.
No results.
-If I press the button next to interior light and keep pressed its blinking until press button on remote. Nothing after this.
-After ignition turned off red LED lights up for two second next to foglight switch.
-One remote blinking allright, other remote blinks only once, soldering won`t help.
Next thing I try is get an alarm receiver from scrapped car...
Is it sure battery is 2016?
How can I make sure I have got the right code labels for the keys? Is there any option to read out the 4 digit code from the remote?

Any information would be very helpful...

try pressing remote button for a few seconds.

LOL
I did try to push it for at least two hours... Just discharged the keys...
Found something in Marea service manual Vol2 about programming.
Looks like my 4 digit labels not right...
Is there any place to read out the four digit code?

Apart from arming and disarming the button also has atleast one other function I know of. If you hold the button in for 10secs or so it will make the alarm silent only lights will flash. So it maybe possible with a certain amount of time pressed or amount of presses the alarm can be disarmed altogether.

Still nothing sorry. I mean sorry for me :)
There is something to do with the remote signal and 4 digit labels, wich is not the right one in my oppinion...
The service manual says if the green blinking LED goes out as soon as the remote pressed it is in "protected" mode. Wich means the only way to unlock it is enter the 4 digit code manually wich is confirmed with a 10 second blinking or constant green led. How can I do this without the right label?
Is anyone on this forum know how to read out 4 digit codes from remotes?
Is Fiat service can do this for me?
