So its been over 4 years since i bought the Stilo, £5500 and 13k miles on it. Its now on 60k and hasn't had any major faults except the odd niggle that was quickly diagnosed and fixed with the help and support of the amazing people on this site.

Its now time to move on as the arrival of my baby has put things into a new perspective and baby has to become first priority.

Before baby was born, I had my heart set on a BMW 1 series, the 120d to be more precise. All I wanted was a vehicle with 5 doors, didn't need to be much bigger. Looked at a few but the ones I wanted came to no avail. Had a deposit put down for one but 24hrs later I was told someone else bought it! Another one, I drove an hour away to view it and as soon as I check the car out, the saleman puts a SOLD on it! BUGGER!

Downhearted, I keep the stilo for my baby's arrival. He comes amazingly and from that very moment, I know the BMW is no longer suitable. It was purely a vehicle I wanted and I put myself first as it was rear wheel drive, and basically a toy for me. All of a sudden, My head AND my heart tells me baby is now first priority. Gone are the thoughts of the bimmer and messing around. Baby's safety and comfort are number one so i've gone for this:

The stilo still in the background but soon to be with a new owner, i'll miss her as i've had so many experiences in the car, good and bad...But as I said, baby is my main priority in life and I live for him so I'll only provide what's best for him. I'll miss the forum but I still check up so often.

Thank you to everyone on the forum.

I'll definately miss the practicality of the hatchback, thats why i wanted the 1 series, 5 doors and hatchback. I knew deep down though that the ride would be extremely rough and not exactly what i'd like my son to be in.

Stilo isn't sold yet, gonna wait till the new year, clean her up then find her a new home.

Its a 1.6 dynamic with full grey/cream leather, schumacher skirts, fully color coded, 9 months tax, 6 months mot, removable window blinds, full service history, added daytime running lights in the lower grilles, sony dvd head unit with reverse camera, think thats about it.

Can't believe how tight merc are with their specs, this c220cdi sport is more or less the same as the stilo! Doesn't have cruise control, doesn't have parking sensors, doesn't have my reverse camera...

What it does have though is 170bhp and nearly 300lb/ft of torque... :D

Yes its a 5 speed manual. Forgot to mention, also has the 17" blades, facelifted grille and led sidelights (which i wanted to remove but they're a bugger to get out!). Front headlights also have the Osram Diadem indicators, the bulbs have a multicolor coating but still shine orange. They were on the rears too but they've been removed.

Haven't placed it for sale just yet but everyone's welcome to make their own valuations/offers. :)

Its a 1.6 So 5speed... Im pretty sure the 6speed was Only fitted to the 1.2
No, my dad's got a 53 plate 1.6 active aircon and it's got a 6 speed.

We shall have to discuss this further :p

Well i shal be interested when u decide to sell it, I love turbo diesels, there so tourqey and brilliant up hills , u got the best colour too

I never really experienced torque till i got this merc. Going through the gears, it pulls so effortlessly. I remember being able to hold the gears for longer in the stilo. With this merc, i need to change more often and sometimes find myself hitting the redline without knowing!

The one thing i won't miss about the stilo is the ride. Yes it was adequate and acceptable but after 4 years, its time to move on and unfortunately i won't be looking back. I do still love the stilo as it doesn't just look like any ordinary car and is so under rated. I'd of loved to of got an alfa giuletta but they're still abit too new and out of my budget. Oh well, a c class will do for now...

I had a Laguna dci which I remapped and that was rapid! Was awesome, and it smoked so much which was quite amusing at times, then I bought an astra coupe 2ltr turbo petrol, I had that modded to 250bhp and that car had some serious tourqe, was a petrol as well so the power was all the way through to nearly 7k revs
