i've just been on the Angel tuning site and my chin almost hit the floor.......

i've got a bravo 147 hgt ink black, had it a while now and was hoping to have an ecu remap to bring out the boy racer in me (mid life crisis). i saw on their website they wont touch anything older than 1999?

thats me stuffed mines a 1998 on an S plate only done 79,000 miles had a new cambelt at 70,000 miles, fsh, complete exhaust recently new front pipe and part worn nearly new back section courtesy of Greg from boo for £40 cheers mate. Got the usual chips on the bonnet and a small dent just near the boot lock (tiny)

just fitted a K&N 57i kit this morning and it sounds like a tiger trying to escape from under the bonnet.

next step was a remap! so what next any ideas anyone? or should i just go down there and see whats what? its only around the corner about 1/2 a mile if that, but i don't want to get told to take my old banger away as its always got mercs and bm dubs outside.

17 inch wheels was a thought too with 205/40/17 tyres should fit ?

First I'd bin that K&N, they're only good for noise not performance. For chip tuning you can get a piggyback chip, sure someone with recommend a place local to you if we know where you are.

If you go to Angel, and your car is in vgc mechanically, and you have documented FSH for it, they'll probably still chip a 98 bravo if you chat nicely to em.

Or, many other companies dont put such limitations. Angel are simply trying to protect themselves from negative feedback should something go wrong on an older car...

I thought they just stop doing older cars because the ECU needs to come out, turnaround is quite a bit longer for them.

As Buzz said if you contact them and give them all this info, and if you are willing to have it done im sure they would sort you out with something.

It is that they dont want to brake your car,and an older car is more likely to break as it's older.

And when that happens, someone that dosent know JACK about cars and engine's just goes round saying AT broke my car dont use them.

When there was a bit more to it than that.

@ Matt, remember when we met Paul,in Glasgow for our tune UP,he was asking me are you sure you want me to try this? he was worried it would break, and he only done it because he new of everything else that head been done to the car to help cope with the Map,but i could tell he was a little nervous, more so than me if broke i was just gona fix it!! simpale as :) or replace the engine,Dam shame that map hit the cut of point FFFFAAASTTTT!! up until it hit it :(

Oh ye they will map ECU out jobby's but you need to go to there work shop.

Any way im sure if you talk to them Nigel if your south or Pual if your up north they will sort you out.

don't quote me but this is less like to be about the age than the modal.
will do a 155 not a 147
there are other options for a 147 tho superchips did my first hgt and i got 9 BHP rolling road tested for a 9 BHP gain, not a huge improvment but decent for the money.
although i did have a dyno done at a tvr race specialist later and they said it was pinking heavily...

to get a true answer send Nige at angel an email and he'll give you a solid answer

or the other option is to get over on the coupe club and ask about the 2.0 20v chip they had on there!

I have the old ECU from my first HGT sat in my room with the chip in ready to go in my current HGT once its back on the road!

we have just got a new Gtech2 chip for the coupe. i have heard that it can be used on the HGT as well so that might be someting for you to check out.

I think it may be the Gtech i have in my old ecu, havent opened it up yet to have a look mind...

I concur with the Scotty.

I drove past Paul at St Andrew Italia day so I thought I'd give him a laugh and done 10mph in 4th gear ... mega smoke cloud lol Everyone knew I'd arrived :)

i think i'll leave it for now and buy some 17'' wheels and tyres can't affordboth at once.
