Not bad.

You'd need to wire them in paralell, so that each LED "sees" 12 volts. But as he already has the LED's, nipping in to Maplin and getting a couple of resistors should be cheaper!

If you want to be more safe on the led, buy a voltage rectifier.

Also have you tried the leds with the rod now? As I can't see it lighting up as you'd want.

The power supply is DC, a rectifier will make no difference.

A voltage regulator might help, but the chance of the voltage going over 14 volts is minimal, and most LED's should handle that no problem with the correct resistors!

wooow dude calm down you lot gettin all high tech on me lmao

i tryed a LED bulb on the battery it blew straight away so i thort i defo need resistors, went down to maplins for heat shrink and asked about resistors for the bulb.

They wer very helpfull seem to know the exact voltage of my led as they sell them aswel, i told him what i was using it for ( 2x 3mm led bulbs connected in series and told him from a car 12v battery and i wanted it as bright as possible),

the lad did some calculations and worked out that for minimum resistance without blowning and the resistor to make my led shine the brightest was 190 OHM but they didnt have any so i got 200 OHM resistor

tested of car battery when i got home with both leds in parallel connection and worked a treat:D

Look i done my angel rings, this is daylight pic still very bright in the light considering its only 3mm diametre bulb and in a fully lit room near the window aswel:

Dark room pic at night:

Honestlyis soo bright lights up the whole kitchen walls honest:

Ice white with a slight blue tint almost like HID xenon look, really liking the out come.

You need to slit tiny cuts on the rear of the rings with a thin hacksaw blade to make the light reflect thru out it, this honestly takes the **** to do it perfectly lol took me like an hour to get all these tiny cuts and not scuff it:

Drill 2 holes either side of the ring ends, i drilled 3mm holes cos i have 3mm led bulbs just make sure you drill them deep enough to fit the hole bulbs inside.

Well done that looks fab

Some ideas not tested out -
A needle file for the grooves might be easier and do them before the rod is bent to shape.
Maybe putting a flat on the back face with a medium file. The rough edge should catch the light.
Possibly just roughing up the whole surface with wet & dry would be enough.

oo nice ideas all though making grooves before could make it more difficult to bend to shape they could snap ect but who knows

yh i tryed to slit first then bend but it just snapped and all the slit seemed to melt and turn into thicker buldges of plastic doesnt work well that way,

i also tryed the wet and dry on back effect but i just didnt like the way it looked too dull for my likin, the slits looks much better imo but i bet the wet and dry technique would reflect more light, i might back my rings with reflective tape or just summat white to reflect the light outwards because right now the most you can see is just light on the slits.

i mean like too much light escaoin thru the back of the ring needs to be reflected to the front

hmm reflective backing unless done well would look a bit tacky and horrible i would image you could file the back a bit to reflect light the right way

i think that will work i may be wrong through

Look i wired then properly even soldered the led legs and wires together, used heat shrink on both ends of the ring and the top of the wire, had to use some insulating tape just in the centre part because thats wer the wires meet and couldnt get heat shrink there

very nice

see so much better and looks alot better aswell

Don't want to sound like a loser or anything but are they legal to use all the time?

Would be pretty mint to have them as sidelights on all the time but I'm not so sure if the dibble would class them as addition lights and try and do you with a £30 fine.

Those ones on ebay look brilliant!

To seperate Panda lights, you stick them in an oven for 30 mins and then silicone them up again to re-seal.

Think I'll be having a do with some later this week :D

well beamers have them as constant sidelights so i dont see the problem with it being legal and that, and you can buy angel eye headlight units so im guessin tere pretty much legal

Yeah I guess if you had them instead of your original sidelights it would probably be fine.

Anybody heard about that new MOT spy'ing thing that's being trialed? Apparently MOT stations are noteing any modifications, totting them up and allocating points for each area them sending off the list to VOSA and they are keeping a record on which to fooook you with next time round.

engine change...wheels..brakes..lights...bodywork....im truly fooked hahaha

but anyway back on topic, I love a bit of angel eyes :)
