If i were you, i would go and get another set of spark plugs and put it in. They are pre set plugs!!!!!

Seriously why do you refuse to listen?

Also i would really consider checking timing .... was it in Nov time that you put your timing belt back on ?

Never had the timing belt off Ming.

As for Plugs, I went by what the handbook said the gap should be, checked the gap with the feeler gauages & gap was too big.

How would I go about checking timing?? also you know what the firing order is??

Seriously, get a set of spark plugs, don't touch them and put them on. I have checked on NGK sites they seems to have a different part number for just the MPI seicento. GEt a set put them on and don't **** about with the gap.

Here is the timing :

Taking your timing belt cover off, see if you can get cam pulley and crank sprocket to line up.

plugs are numbered on the coils so you cant get it wrong.

is it sparkingin the dark? take leads off wd40 all the terminals and plug them back on.

the plugs will work if it works higher up the rev range.

if its sparkinmg out thats why its running shite low revs. getting a crap spark. high rev more power so stronger spark.

HT Lead No3 popped off at one point this evening & could hear it clicking away when we ran the engine.
Going out to check shortly.

why did this happen? leads are like suction cups, absolute bugger to get off sometimes, they dont pop off unless they weren't fitted properly to begin with

Andi, why did you need to set the gap ? They all come pre set, i really hope you didn't mess about with it.

Andi, Ming has a point - certianly with the plugs. Most common plugs are all pre-set nowadays. For the sake of a tenner, if that, it won't hurt to try changing them again - but this time, without doing anything.

when i was having major running issues and major overfueling on the cinq i bought new plugs put them in and the car was worse than ever, a quick check with the feeler guages showed they were out by a massive margin. tightened them up to the correct spec and all was well. but for mpi's they should be pre-set, thts appears to be what the plugs i got were set for anyway

to be fair though mrcento ngk have a different code for MPI seicento plugs. and they are pre gapped.

ive always ran bosh super 4's and never gapped them in my life. was always told by the guy at the rr that it doesnt make a difference now adays as most ngk and bosch are pre-gapped
