Amps...

well i have just messed up my 6x9's today, theyre making lots of static noise when loud, stupid crappy kenwoods :p

the good thing with that jbl pack is i get a sub + box as well as the amp, plus 6x9's ofc and the wiring kit, which means i save money plus get some decent well known stuff rather than stuff i've never heard of

Cinquecento Sporting,
and yes it is indeed Broom Yellow \o/

dont buy from all your bass them amps are pants

rember when looking at amps make sure your looking at rms figures!

them figures are obviously peak as the amp only has a 40a fuse on it

cant remeber the little sum that you can work back from fuse rating to approximate power though

That all you bass amp is 600w RMS, don't knock it till your've tried it, its only £99, I've supplied 2 amps to people from all your bass and they are very happy with them.

no offense mate but them amps are not going to perform anything like what they say

do some research into quality car audio and you will find out what i mean

i know i dont know much bout car audio but am learning all the time and your right i havent tried one of those amps.

but in life you get what you pay for and look at the price of REAL 600w rms amps

also if you read the forum on that website you will realise the bloke doesnt have that much of a clue. he also admits some of the true power figures in there as well

found that little equation

its Power = Voltage x Current
so for a 12v car battery and that amp with a 40a fuse that makes

12 X 40 = 480

and then when you take into account class a and class b amps are around 50% effiecient that means we half that figure

480 / 2 = 240

oh dear that leaves us with 240w absolute maximum cos the 40a fuse will have some overhead as well

so the rms per channel is under 60w not 120w

You cant disagree with science! :)

I totally understand someone spending as little as possible, Im just the same, if something can be had for little money then why not compromise on performance?

But what really annoys me is when someone or a company blatently lie to take advantage of the fact that people will make a compromise (such as allyourbass). Whay advertise that the amp will do 1200w when it has a 40a fuse? Its ridiculous.

To show the difference between a genuine power claim:

My mate wants 2 Crystal amps ~ 1 x 200.2 = 2x100w RMS

and

1 x 600.2 = 1x600w RMS

He enquired at Source in Sheffield and he will need a circuit breaker because there isnt a blade fuse in exsistence that will be able to handle the draw of these two amps, he has to use a trip switch, a 200a trip switch!

If he was to buy 2 of these amps from allyourbass he would have more power than the Crystal amps but would only need 2x40a blade fuses? That is the biggest load of bulls**t I have ever heard.

Just my 2p worth!

P.S

so for a 12v car battery and that amp with a 40a fuse that makes
A car will produce around 13.8 volts when running.:) But that only brings it up to 69w RMS a channel! :D

ahhh stop being so picky :p

the measurements on there site are taken at 14.4 so i guess its only fair to do these oneas at 14.4 so 72w it is

oh and we havent mentioned the quality of the sound, im guessing its less then brilliant!
