Sorry if it seems like I'm spamming but I just got into this and very interested etc, basicly I have this amp:

It's 600w and Ive got a matching 600w VRX sub with it, maybe not amazing but it'll do for me, so, wiring this to the sub seems easy enough, but this thing is "bridgeable" apparently, so I was wondering, would it be possible for me to run my 2 6x9's from this also? how would I go about running a Sub and 2 6x9's from this?

here are the connectors:

or should I just use the headunit to power the 6x9's and leave this for just the sub?

yea basically you can only power 2 speakers off that amp.... or your sub

if you didnt want to get another amp then i would do what you said... i.e. run 6 x 9s off the HU

hope this helps

I have a cinq (crap alternator and battery) but its easily powering 1000w's through 3 amps. Only makes the lights dim when turned all the way up. neeons pulse too, which is kinda cool. lol

So anyway. Yes it will be fine. (y)

Easier to put another wire in if youve already got one amp in rather than taking it out......... (y)
But decent wiring does always make the most out of a system.

'The system is only as good as its wekaest point' (y)

K, but running 2 6x9's from the headunit isnt terrible is it? I dont need an amazingly loud system, just aslong as it sounds good, it sounds good just now, just needs more kick.

Im sure ill find out soon, Im gonna make a little display stand for the amp and Ive already made a shelf for the sub today, so looking good, just need to run the wires.

yea try them off your head unit.. it might save you buying another amp... you could be suprised how it sounds.. if its a fairly decent HU then it might amp them adequately for what you want.

K, another problem, the wires that came with it, the power and grounding ones anyway have circular connectors on the ends, one is wider than the other, so for example on the power cable, the end closest to the inline fuse has a large diameter circular metal bit on end to connect to car battery + terminal.

Problem is the other ends circular connector is smaller in diameter, and too small to fit the screw through on the amp, if you look at the pic above of the B+ and grounding terminals. So how can I fix this? is it safe to try widen the connector on the end of these wires, or should I just stick them in under the gold plates above as far as I can and screw it down tightly?

Also on a JVC headunit is the RCA wire blue? theres only 1 blue wire there.

with regards connecting the power leads to the amp.. the remote wire + and - wires can be stripped of their connetor and the bear copper just screwed down on the connector on the amp.

when you say RCA wire do you mean the remote wire (thin one) sometimes attached to the rca cable?

i dont know what colour that is on JVC HU's but someone else might that has one... its blue on my sony i think

did you listen to the 6 x 9s connected to the HU yet? what you think?

alfie

ah right, so the remote, battery lead and grounding wires can all be stripped to bear copper? thatll make it alot easier, cheers mate.

Not listened to the 6x9's yet, been at school, driving lessons and trying to figure out how to wire up the amp etc, but knowing that will make it alot easier!

I saw that the car has wiring for the speakers running right to the back of the car, so connecting up the 6x9s to the other 2 45w channels shouldnt be too hard.

RCA wire I mean remote yeah.

not sure on rms, but I got it from overdrive, a local shop up here, cost £130 for the 12" sub, amp and wiring kit, but I have problems.

I wired it all up when I got in from school, but nothings happening.
The red power cable is connected to the red positive end of the battery, inline fuse is in, its screwed down at the amp end, then I connected up the ground wire, screwed that onto the amp, then I reconnected the negative on the battery but the amp isnt even lighting up, does the remote cable have to be in? I cant find a straight blue cable at the back of my headunit so I dont know where to put the remote cable, but still, shouldnt the amp just be on all the time then?

any ideas?

Yes, the remote cable needs to be attached to something at least. It it aint, the amp will never get a signal to switch on.

An alternative is to wire it to the ignition live. However, this means that your amp will ALWAYS come on when you switch the ignition on whether your HU is switched on or off

Right I think I was slightly wrong in saying it was a solid blue wire. It is actually blue with a white stripe according to my JVC schematic. The reason why I said it was solid blue was that my lead going from the JVC harness to the amp is solid blue. Sorry!

Chuck a photo up so we can have a look
