Long story short; I basically disconnected everything and now can't remember where it went and Haynes is useless

In the haynes it says something like; big red and small grey/black to alternator - which rings a bell from the dismantling.

Then on the starter is where I am confused as I am left with a small red, big red and a green/blue/?? going to a large spade than I can't find reference to.

Some of the wires aren't long enough to reach the starter which helps to determine what goes where, and the green/blue/?? bundle looks like it can reach the starter, or does it go to the solenoid?!??

The spades are different sizes (small ones wont go on the big terminals etc) which also helps...

If this jogs anyones memory can you help me out?

Ok I figured some of it out. You were right that nothing goes to the starter itself; it all goes to the solenoid

The 12V feed from the battery daisy chains from the starter to the alternator so

Alternator = big 12V and grey/white

Starter = big 12V, small red

Does the solenoid have 3 posts on it? I can't quite see it but I think I can feel it.

That other spade I mentioned has a black/black&green/black&green/black&blue, does that go to the other terminal on the solenoid?

Thought id post them on here, just in case I'm not on later (y) hope they help.

I knew it went "somewhere" the issue was whether it went to the 12V of the starter (the spades are the same and the hole size is the same) or somewhere else.

I didn't remember there was a ground connection at the back of the engine. Since the main loom it came from was the same for the starter/alternator I was convinced it was something to do with that.

Just to reiterate; I had a spade left over and couldn't remember where it was supposed to be connected, I'm sure this is a common problem if you don't pay attention when taking something apart?
