Hey Folks,

After several months of 'noise' the alternator on 'our' Seciento has finally given up the ghost.

Packed in this morning after getting noisier over the past couple of weeks.

So in addition to a cam belt kit I will be souricing an appropriate replacement alternator at the same time.

This was an expected occurance and I was in the process of pricing them up. Just needed to confirm what Amperage applies to my model (2007 MPI 'Van') here in Spain!!

Ho hom but this means I shall be getting my hands dirty again at last!!:D

best regards

Oh don't we all know that bearing going noise all too well. Its amazing just how long they will go for with dodgy bearings.....

Anyway

If your any way handy with a spanner, They are easy to rebuild yourself.

the brush box and regulator are all one, and as above the bearings should be available in a local stockist, or failing that on the old Ebay...

there is links to all in a older post..

If you just get a replacement, any alternator for a cinq/sei will do really so long as its not got AirCon, they have bigger amperage. Actual numbers i don't know off top of my head though i'm afraid.

Thanks for the info folks. Read through the rebuild stuff and if I was in the UK would go down that route or certainly buy one off e bay.

Kind of need this back on the road ASAP so have ordered one from a local motor factors(exchange) and have acquired a cam belt kit so I'm going be to doing that too.

Can´t wait!!!

Cheers

Malcolm
