Fiat ducato 2.2 2010.

I had to take injectors out, clean and change seals etc. Didnt think to mark them. So likely they are now in different positions.
This means the coding is incorrect so I need to recode the injectors.
This all I want to do.
Multiecuscan requires £50 for this and purchase of a cable.

Is there a cheaper way to do this one task? Or other software that will do?
Some scanners are cheaper than this.
Any that will let me code them?

Many thanks.

Read this first

Pay cheap pay 3 times.
The only sensible approach other than multiecuscan is alfaobd on an android phone with a decent bt4 adaptor not a cheap ebay one.

Have you checked the mes register for someone near by you?

Checked register. No ne in this half of Wales.

Ill take a look at the alpa obd.
The £50 wouldn't be so bad if it was a one off. Id likley have another italian van at some point. But as it is, I had my 20 minutes which wasnt enough time to see if this would have other uses, read codes etc. And it wont allow me another scan or to connect without paying the fee. Im a bit weary at shelling out if paying yearly would cost more than a decent scanner in the long run.
Im lucky that I already have the Vlinker cable from the forscan software, so notncost me anything to try it.

Right. So the AlfaOBD also works with windows. Ill see how that looks.
It also has No vin lock and no time limit.
So I could use this on my Dads Doblo, and other vehicles?.. forever?
Same price without the hamstrings?

im trying see what the catch is?

I have copies of both on 2 platforms each, i dont want to be without the capability. So when my 12 yr old laptop only had 1 working usb port and shedding keys i decided it was still capable of running Mes and bought a new licience for a new laptop, just had to suck it up. I recently had to use Alfaobd first time for 2 years and realised why i prefer MES. I find it much easier to use and there is much more support. My preffered advice is to use buy both and use a USB device with MES and BT with andoid and alfaobd. USB is much more secure for things like key programming and proxi alignment the alternative is much more portable and more likely to be in van on all occasions. But not all have my attitude to tools or my bank balence. If i need a special tool first time i hire it second time I buy the best i can afford. from your first statement of i only want to program the injectors i would suggest alfaobd but add in a doblo and other uses its MES.
One of the great assests of MES is the simulate mode to use offline you can see what is available without being connected to the van and practice the routine, this is not available in Alfaobd.

Thats good advice thank you.

I think the bit that puts me off mes is the single 20 min chance to see if it will work.
I disconected maf sensor to create an error code. So engine light is on.
Mes did a scan and told me what van and engine I have, but no info on modules or dtc options. I didnt have enough time to see if it read the fault.
Any attemp to scan after that gave an error.
Any attempt to conect said to buy it.

I got the impresion it didnt do much. And the simulation has very few options on top of a cheap hand held scanner.

I will try again and see if there are more.

The free version of MES doesnt do much other than the important one shows you have connection. Simulation does not do anything with actual data it is intended to show you what is possible and lead you through the process eg look at F7 adjustments No cheap hand held scanner will allow reset of this function of any of the other functions writing to the ECM eg any new sensors.

Yes. Ive seen this in simulation.

Is this simulation a list of things that can actually be done on my vehicle. Or just a general example of what might be done, depending on the vehicle I have?

I had it pluged in when looking, after the scan.

Thanks

Ah. Now that does help thanks

I did a scan first, after that it went to the ducato 2.2 automatically when doing simulation. So I can go on simulation now and see exactly what is enabled yes.

Have bought mes and activated it.

The software carries in working after license expires, but no updates. I can put up with that. I only buy old vehicles anyway.

ill ask another question about injectors on forum.
Many thanks.
