ALPINE-SWR-1242D What Amp??

Hey i have just got the ALPINE-SWR-1242D sub and i dont have a clue what amp to get for it ???

also how to wire it up to the sub with the ohms in mind.
any advice would be helpfull.

I have a Grande punto 1.2 active 08 reg. with bluetooth and usb reader is ther any head unit i can get to keep the functions working or will i loose them if i change it ??

Your sub is 4 ohm so there is only one way of wiring it. To reduce the Ohms you need more than one sub or a sub with 2 coils.

You can connect an amp to the standard HU just do a search for Line level - RCA converter in the search bar.

Thats what you want. Don't need to spend that extra money.

I am running them both and you will get more bass than you will ever want.

It depends on what budget he has. I was just basing that on the fact that i have heard the 2 together and now i have a bit more respect for Alpine set ups. (wow i bet nobody expected me to say that)
For me the cheaper amps just dont cut the quality and under-powering a sub can have implications just the same as over powering them.

I have the M500 and I would never NEED (one always wants more) more bass. If he wants to save £130 thats what I suggest....can go towards soundproofing, HU, cables/leads, other mods, etc.

It depends if you wanna go second hand. I have seen them come up under £150 posted in A1 Condition
I dont think it would take a lot for me to get hold of one but i was waiting for the OP's response first.

I Havent spent the money on it just yet just in the middle of my boot build so it will be the last thing i buy. just need an amp that will go well with one sub. how much will it cost to sound proof the back of my car ???

Well if you are geting deadening then you may as well buy a little bit extra to do the doors.
I would say that using the stuff from the group buy that i have set up then you would need between about 3 and 5 sheets dependant on your budget. More if you have plenty of spare cashish.
Its now £27 per sheet plus £5 postage per 3 sheets.
