Styling Alloy wheel paint colour.

I have painted a few and the rubbish paint from Ebay is nowhere near however I recently found a Rover paint that is very very similar. I've only used it for touching up not a complete respray but it's as close as you're going to get. I'll rake the can out later today and put the Code/Name etc.

Rover Platinum Silver BLVC1209. A very close match
P1030287.JPG

I said id post some photos of the paint once id done a bit...here they are.
Both pics are taken in my garage with non natural lighting, so both give different and possibly more visible views of the difference.
The difference is also most probably highlighted by poor painting technique whereas a perfect match would be much more forgiving i think. In all to my eye i think the rover silver is a more matte Gray and doesn't contain the fleck/sparkle - its not miles away, but for touching up i need it to be considerably closer.
I think in daylight and on the car it probably wont be so noticeable, but im afraid to say its too much of a difference for me! I will echo what @typecastboy has said about Paints4u, my dealings with them compared to my local paint 'specialist' have been great, the paint went on well and didnt have the splatter that i got from cans i've had from other suppliers and customer service is excellent. - Just wish they were a bit closer to me!

I bought a "cheap ebay" paint pack, 2 primer, 3 top coat, 2 lacquer about £30 to refurb my tired Mazda alloys a few years ago, turned out really well, yesafter several years one or two spots show where the paint has come off but that's possibly a preparation issue, so overall a good buy

It’s also worth me stating here, that I contacted FCA the other day. After having to jump through hoops and provide a v5 and drivers licence the - surprising response (NOT AT ALL) was that they were not fitted as standard and tot take them back to the garage who fitted them.
Just totally ignoring the.question asked imho
