not necessarily, its a feature that is disabled as standard on all UK stilos, used to have to go to the dealer and get raped to have them turned on, but you can now turn them on using Yanis FIat ECU scan software and appropriate interface...
Thanks for quick reply. i have the basic version of the fiatecu and a elm which works fine with picking up faults, is it that what I need to do it and do you know which bit
If you don't have the security code for the car, you'll need to get it from a Fiat dealer. They seem to charge between free and £35 for it according to previous posts.
Probably too late if you've already ordered an ELM v1.3, but there are a lot of sellers on eBay selling Chinese cloned versions of v1.2 chips labeled as 1.3 or 1.4.
Got the plug today. Will let me go into the engine side but not the CAN. It is elm327 v1.4 so should work I would have thought. Fiatecuscan is full version (downloaded free version, so do I need to download again) scratching head alot.
Unless you bought your interface from Gendan with the adapter cables, you will need to modify the plug to connect to the CAN. Instructions for modifying it can be found on Yani's forum here:
Cheers mate, did what Yani said and removed RO4 and it works fine. Just need to visit Fiat now to get the car code thought I had it on key sticker but that one didn't work. Something to do tomorrow.
PS Davren old man says thanks for disk works brill
