this morning just before going to work the alarm went off in my newly acquired bravo hlx. Turned it off. All nice and neet. Got to work and guess what....it wont turn back on. Was thinking of disconnecting the battery, but theres one little problem - red key missing and im a bit worried. Any ideas ? Please help

Ohh, and I tried reseting the thing by pressing the button next to the sunroof control but didnt help...

cheers guys

i thought someone was gonna be helpful here....maybe its because you dont like newbies??

Woah there Neddy !!!

Just because someone hasn't replied since 8pm last night doesn't mean they're not helpful and certainly doesn't mean that we don't like n00bs !

It's the weekend and a lot of people are doing other things.

It could be that no one knows how to solve your problem, but at least give them a chance !!

I'm sure someone will pitch in soon with some suggestions.

I recon its a standard fiat alarm ?
By turning it off, you mean you shut it on-off on the alarm key switch or ????

Red key wont be the problem if you disconnect the battery - well it shouldnet be. Alarm should have its own key.

sorry guys...didnt mean to be mean.

Yeah, it is a standard fiat alarm.. red key missing and alarm keys missing. anything i can do ? Will try the battery disconnection tomorrow morning...but im just worried that once i reconnect it and the alarm goes off i wont be able to turn it off.

cheers

have you tried to change the battery in the fob? ( the remote for the alarm) or even take the back off and where the rubber button connects to the circuit board wipe both the buttons and the circuit board, some times a build up of **** blocks the way of the conection, my dads just had the same problem.

that didnt work either....donno what to do...

cheers anyways guys

How did you turn it off with no alarm keys?

by turning it off i mean disarming it (stopping it from beeping) and not turning it off completely.

Sorry for not making myself that clear... its due to english being my second language.

cheers

You mentioned it wouldn't turn on later on, how are you tring to turn it on? Turn what on? The Alarm? How if you have no keys. Or do you mean start the car?

No point pressing the buttons in the ceiling light if you have no alarm keys. If yo uhave no alarm keys how do you start the car. Do you have copies of blue keys?

the car starts and drives..by turn on i mean activate the alarm (and not turn it on with the little key which i dont have). Well thats what i cannot do - i cannot activate the alarm. Would a battery disconnection help ?

cheers

You need the original keys with the alarm buttons built in, you can't activate it without or deactivate.

No disconnecting the battery wont work.

Just buy a new alarm. It'll be much cheaper at the end of the day.
