HI ALL firstly let me say great forum :)
I've just got my 2.0 20v Marea HLX (yesterday) but i`m having a problem with the alarm/central locking ?
I have red key + 2 Blue alarm fobs + Alarm off key (yes it has the lock under dash).
both blue keys unlock the doors manually and start the car (key icon on dash goes off within 1 second), but they don`t work the alarm/CL
I have tried the reset button thing as it states in manual (with light console on the roof) light flashes fast while holding in the button with a pen but when i press keyfob button the flasihing slows down (but doesn`t just stay on like it should)
if i start the car the alarm goes off (so i've had to disable it with the round key)
i haven`t treid new batteries yet but the light on thefob flashes repeatedly and brightly plus when trying the reset thing with the roof light cluster it is responding to the button press cos the light flashes slower?

any suggestions on how to fix this ? :bang:

Could be the code that your key is transmitting to the car isn't in the car memory any more.

The memory can loose them.

The alarm and the immobiliser are seperate systems from what I have read in the service manuals I downloaded. The immobiliser reads a radio chip (like the ones in security packaging in shops) in the key with a reader thats in the barrel of the ignition.

The alarm on the other hand sends a radio signal when you press the button.

To re-insert the code for the alarm you need the number for each key. It was once on a label attached to each key and may be in your docs.

Once you have that the instructions are in the Fiat Brava vol2 service manual downloadable from:

http://babarmalik.com/ledmods.htm

its 35mb so I hope you have bradband - but its def. worth it.

info you need starts on page 20 of 620

If you have time download all the vols.

I know its the Brava/bravo one but most of the systems are essentially the same.

incidentally if you want to download the Marea version of the service manual (it doesn't have the alarms stuff though) you need to cut/paste each of the address in the code box below into IE and download the files (you have to wait between each one but its worth it):
