i want an alarm that feckin loud and basicly does what an alarm should do.

I'm in a similar boat to you now Maxim. Not sure what I wanna do.

I dont want a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm (be nice) but not essential. Just want an alarm.

Not sure what tho.

Think my budget is bigger than yours. I'd go as far as £200 but its difficult to know how best to spend it :)

didnt have a alarm then. plus the body shop left the dors unlocked and theboot had no handle or lock so it just poped open.

That Toad alarm is more like £300, not quite £200 :)

you really went out of your way to be a ass, verry cool of you.

the cars in there with people opening doors to have a look in all the time and alarm goes off its loud and i have tested it. it cant be bad if its insurance approved.

hmmm, yer i do have a low budget, and i also live in a very high crime area. so i do need one. but i wouldnt mind something simple that i can fit myself for cheap. or something for under £100 thats fitted and a very good alarm?
help..

theres one on ebay and its got remote start aswell it about 74-90 ish falcon? evo? predator? one of those lol.

Paul, you asked me to find a bad comment, so I did.

And how can you recommend something that you haven't tried and tested or don't use on a regular basis ?

Let's be honest here, what do car alarms actually do ?

Do criminals think, "Oh No, he has a Toad "whatever" installed, better not nick/vandalise that car" ??

When a car alarm goes off, do you go check it out ? How often do you hear an alarm go off in a car park or in a street and see members of the general public rush over to investigate and intervene ?

Never. The alarm just makes an annoying noise that neither deters a thief or vandal nor alert the authorities and intervene. Unless of course you pay for a monitored tracking device that is linked to the Police, but then who here can afford that, or warrant it's use on a FIAT ? Even then, it doesn't stop some theiving scrote from having a go.

I'm not having a personal pop at you, but fail to understand how anyone can recommend an alarm. At best, they are damage limitation, at worst they are an expensive public nuisance. All you have to do is watch a reality documentary like "Car Wars" to see that even the best cars with the best alarms get stolen or trashed.

if a theife wants some thign they will get it. alarm make YOU aware that something has happened to your car. i have hadded the pager system as a added extra, it works, so i can recommend. the alarm has a independant siren so if the wire is cut it still goes off. the alarm is loud the central lockign works it goes off if you rock the car/ open a door etc... so i can recommend. its in use daily as it is armed all the time but people look inside the cars at the body shop so it goes off, so yet again i can recommend it. if it was just installed and not heard it work yet, then i couldnt recommend but its working fine for me, its not got a stuipid price tag and i think its quality so far.

so again il recommend it to you maxim, but if you cant afford it......
