Greetings all,
picked up my 02 plate 2 days ago and having a problem with the alarm/central locking. The dealer told me the car had to be entered by using the key manually. I changed the fob battery and as soon as i closed the casing for the key the alarm armed beeping , stoping then beeping away again whilst the central locking flicked up and down 3-4 times. The immobiliser light thingy flashes ok. After a minute or so it settles then when i go near the car again without touching it the alarm dis-arms the re-arms again. It's all very random! I then have to take the key battery out and open the door manually again, it's driving me chicken jalfrazi(CrAzY)! The car dealer is some 50 miles away, so would rather not have to drive back through then have to train it back to Edinburgh only to go back through again. Any thought's, key needs recoded? On the owners manual there is a 4 digit code with the word code written next to it, key-cade maybe?
Thanks!

I'm afraid I have no help for your problem just a thought on the 4 digit code. Isn't it likely to be for the car radio?

If it is the code for the radio how do i go about getting the key code, or can't this be done?

Hi, did you get a credit type card with the owners manual, as thats what is needed to get the key recoded for your car, if nothing else you may have to contact a fiat dealer and see if they can recode it for you, via the number plate or chassis, goodluck

Getting stranger by the minute, I can now use the fob to set the alarm etc BUT in order to do this i must leave the key fob half open ( two sides not clicked in) just touching! Any idea's....

Seems like (one of) the button(s) on the remote is sticking. This would explain why the battery was flat and why it cycled through arm, disarm when you fitted a new battery. You would need to open the remote control to see what's happening.

Dave.

I seem to remember that a number of key fobs suffered with the miniature switch departing company with the PCB and required resoldering.

Just had the keyman @ A.C look at my fob, keys knackered... £170 for a new remote and re-coding. Any one know cheaper?
