Aircon baffles me a bit, mine was all working correctly(clutch engaging) but it was not cool at all.
I bought a can of aircon refill with a pressure gauge from Autokool, as I suspected it was empty of gas, I conected the gauge as directed, It only fits on the smaller valve. The gauge indicated that the system had the correct pressure in it. Damn, this baffled me so I threw in the towel and took it to an expert. He said the system was nearly empty and had only 5g of gas in it, he filled it up with 650g of gas and dye. It works brilliantly now goes down to 4-5 degrees from the vent, chilly.
My point is, the gauges you get with the diy kits are ok, but they measure the pressure in the system but not the volume of gas in there, mine clearly had pressure in it,but very little gas. Does that make sense?
