General Airbox/Filter Sei Abarth

Hey,
Got an issue, (one of many). looking at putting an aftermarket airfilter on my sei Abarth. Dont know much about cars but i had a look earier to see how i would go about it. i took the front off the standard airbox/filter and the actual filter is filthy with oil and all behind the filter is the same. any ideas why? the actual throttle body is clean though.

theres a breather pipe that runs into the airfilter, nothing to worry about really. is yours a mk1 or mk2? the after market air filter options are diffrent for the two cars.

its a t reg? dunno what mk that makes it? how would i connect the top of the tb to the new airfilter?

T reg means yours is a mk1 which is single point injection. you've got 2 options really, you can buy a kit for it,

or you can make your own, starting point for that is the bob off a 899cc cinq or seicento. have a search and a look in the FAQ's you should find all the info you need.

Make sure that your oil is recent and the correct grade.

Also make sure the breather and flame trap are clear of old oil.
