Is there any reason why this induction kit wouldnt kit an spi car?

Completely different attachment to the throttle body I'm afraid.

What as in the throttle body is a different size? Its only a plastic cup as far as i can see.

On the SPIs you have the injector right over the butterfly plus the inlet temp sensor etc. and all this is covered by your airbox which is bolted to threads in the body.

On the MPI systems the injectors are down in the manifold and all you have in the throttle body is the butterfly and a circular pipe upon which that induction kit would clamp around.

Completely different systems unfortunately for you. Your best bet is buy a GSR induction kit for SPI centos, or buy an 899cc throttle body 'bob' and improvise.

Thanks mate =] What is the diameter of the pipe coming off the bob? Also is the diameter of the pipe and samco hoses measuered from one side to another or all the way around the circumference of the pipe? Cheers, Russ

The diameter is, by definition, from side to side. I'm not sure what it is on the bob but from memory it's something like 40mm. Don't have one to check but someone else must know.

Run a search for induction kits - you'll find plenty of home made solutions that you can copy. Or a GSR might sway you!

hey there im having th exact problem i went to my local scrap yard and bought a 899cc bob from a older cento
the diameter of pipe that you would need is 50mm
the cheapest i have found this pipe is from a ebay shop

They're OK. Not as good as a GSR, but not that far off.

To the OP, there are very similar kits for the SPI cars. Take a peek at some of the projects on Cento Rebels.

thanks, would this be a gd buy as the gsr ones are expensive? would i gain any more performance compared to a standard air box or the K@N cone i have got installed at min, if anything i think the K@N is 'holding' back the car when accelerating, my car is due a service so will be doing that next week,

I recon way better than either of those two. Somehere there's a RR graph of the Focus one (as it's called -- originally it was developed for the Fraud, then the Puntistas discovered it would fit, then the importers caught onto it) and the GSR. Unf no-one put the K&N or the stock air filter on the graph.
