Dear all,
For the last 10 days or so, the AIRBAG warning light remains ON after starting the car. My B has 2x AIRBAGS. The first time the light remained ON, after driving for 1 hour or so it went off. After returning home the light was ON again and never went off since!
Any suggestions?
The other problem I m having is when I do short stops when the car is warm. For example, when I stop for 1-2 minutes at the petrol station with the engine off, it takes 2-3 tries to get it started again! Anyone having similar problems?

Air Bag light can be a few things. Normally a break in the curcit somewhere.

Check under each seat, ensure the wires there are connected, in the middle arm rest the air bag is turned on, turn off and on again. Disconect battery and re-connect. If it's still the same take it to a Fiat dealer to turn the light off via a computer. (cost depends on there nature) could be £60 to find the root cause or free just to turn it off. Try phoning around as some local garages have the equipment to do this.

Car starting issues could be dirty fuel, clogged injectors, filters etc. Go to Halfords and buy some fuel cleaner, spend £5 min, do not dilute it as mush as it says. Then run the car up and down a 70mph road for 20 mins. This should do it.

If nether of the above are of interst, get the car serviced explaining all the issues, cheaper to resolve faults if there doing other work for you.

Let us know how it goes.

very common problem on fiats, if the dealer tries to fix it you usually find the light comes back on a few days later. check the yellow wires and their connectors under the seats, above the glovebox and behind the steering wheel.

Hay docorangepeel - Yeah you know I'll always want one. I shall soon enough. I am getting married in 18mths. After that I shall save for an old B, and strip her, spend some time on her getting her 100%.

I had to sell mine because the guy who MOT'd it for the 1st time crashed it. and she never drove the same.

I like your site BTW. I hope it's going ok as the UK Barchetta club was a waste of time. Always out of date.

Good luck.

Hi
Thanks, thats why I started it, the UK owners site is sooooooooooooo crap. The only problem is time, I spend all day working on computers so coming home and putting in another 2-3 hours is hard going but the site is getting better every month. I do get lots of members requests and mondo now has 50 members :) so thats good, but not so much in the way of owners sending letters and info for the site :-( but what can you do. I am trying to build up a bit of a club mentality but its slow going.

I have lots more things I want to do with the site and I have a few weeks off over Xmas, so I will crack on with it then. I want to make a members welcome pack (you know stickers and stuff) at some point and things like that and work up to a Barchetta get together next summer.

OK, I checked under the driver's seat, and found 2 connectors. One for the seat belt warning light and one for the airbag. I had the key in the hmmmm... how do you say that...?? ok , lets say "all electrics ON"possition and fidled around with the connector and "puf"... light is now permanently OFF.
Cheers dudes!!!
