he put his diagnostic thing on it and it came up faulty nsf airbag sensor regards g

Ok.. I'd give that connector a right good clean in any case.. It's very accessible.
Open it clean it and put it back together with a cable tie wrapped around it

It's a very common fault and you might just be lucky.
Marty.

do u need to unbolt seat and by clean do u mean just agood rub with dry cloth sorry not very mechanical g

No need to unbolt seat...
Ignition off
Locate orange connector under front passenger seat.
Unplug and clean... I use electrical cleaner spray and cotton bud but u can improvise.
Plug back together FIRMLY.. Cable it it so the tie is closing the plug(pushing the male into the female rather than compressing the plug)

Try it... Nothing to lose and as it's so common it very we'll may be your issue.
Marty.

ill give it a go tommorrow will fault have to b reset with diagnostic reader regards g

having trouble seperating connector is it screwed to seat any tips not much play in cable regards g

From memory, there's a clip on the side of it holding the two halves together. You'll need to ease that out to let the connector separate.

If that connector doesn't sort the problem, there's another one in the dashboard, next to the airbag itself, which is also known to get flaky. Also be aware that the fault light may not clear immediately even though you've fixed the problem; leave things for a few days/engine start-stops to see if the control unit resets itself.

hi again well no luc k got electrical contact cleaner gave it good spray was only 1 metal spade in 1 side of connecter rubbed that withh cotton bud cable tied together no joy grrr if it doesnt clear in a couple of days how do i get at other one regards george

If it were that connector fault should have cleared straight away(did on mine anyway several times)
In the meantime I took a pic of mine.. No use to u now but might help others re the cable tie orientation.
Unfortunately I have no info on the other connector for you but someone else will help. ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1385559397.162390.jpg
